On 11 February 2026, Agape International Bilingual Nursery and Primary School proudly took part in Cameroon’s National Youth Day celebrations at the ceremonial ground in Dibombari, Douala. With colourful outfits, confident steps, and radiant smiles, our pupils expressed civic pride, cultural identity, and a shared commitment to national unity.
What Youth Day Represents in Cameroon
Youth Day (11 February) celebrates the promise and responsibility of young people in Cameroon. It spotlights patriotism, discipline, education, national integration, and cultural diversity, as schools nationwide demonstrate unity through coordinated march‑past displays and creative performances. For pupils, it’s one of the most anticipated days of the year—a chance to honour the nation while building confidence, teamwork, and community spirit.
Agape’s Colourful Participation: Pride, Culture & Discipline
Agape’s delegation stood out for its variety of attire and well‑coordinated march‑past:
- Official school wear that reflected discipline and identity
- Traditional outfits celebrating Cameroon’s rich heritage
- Ballet costumes adding grace and creativity
- Sports attire symbolising teamwork, health, and resilience
From the moment our banner led the procession, the pupils marched with precision, energy, and pride, drawing admiration from government administrators, educators, parents, and the wider community. The overall display spoke to Agape’s mission—nurturing well‑rounded citizens grounded in integrity, knowledge, and service.
Excitement in the Air: A Day the Children Cherished
Beyond the choreography, the children’s joy made the day unforgettable. Their enthusiasm—waving, smiling, keeping formation, and celebrating with peers—created a warm, festive atmosphere. For many of our younger learners, it was their first major public parade, and they embraced it with courage and delight. The sense of belonging and shared achievement will remain a cherished memory for our pupils and staff alike.
A Living Expression of Civic Duty
Participating in Youth Day is more than tradition; it is active citizenship in action. Through preparation, teamwork, and public presentation, our pupils learned the values of discipline, respect, cultural appreciation, and national pride. We extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and especially our wonderful pupils for making this event truly special.
Gratitude
Agape IB Nursery & Primary School appreciates the efforts of the organizing authorities in Dibombari, Douala, and the encouragement from government administrators, inspectors, and partners in education. Together, we continue to invest in the future—our children.
